Rhythm Reset: a group chat for people actually trying this stuff
A low-key space for real-life experiments with light, sleep, and daily rhythm.
I’m adding something new to this newsletter: a standing chat called Rhythm Reset.
It’s not a course or a challenge. It’s basically a free group thread for people who are actually trying to change their light, sleep, and daily rhythm in the middle of real life (aka, caretaking, work, travel, winter, all of it).
If you’ve ever read a post and thought, “Okay, but what does this look like on a Tuesday when I’m exhausted?” that’s what this is for.
What Rhythm Reset will look like
Rhythm Reset is a subscriber-only chat where we’ll talk about:
Morning light and getting outside
Bedtime and screens
Meal timing, movement, and rest
The small, boring shifts that rewire things over time
I’ll start simple check-ins and threads (for example: “What’s one thing you’re trying with your evenings this week?”), and you can jump in with what you’re doing, what’s working, what’s not, or what you’re confused about.
You don’t have to “keep up.” You can dip in and out as it’s helpful.
Inside the chat, you can do things like:
Share one tiny win (got outside before coffee, ate earlier, turned your phone off by 10pm, etc.)
Ask basic questions without feeling silly
Admit when you’ve fallen off and want a clean slate
Reply to others with “same,” encouragement, or what’s helped you
The goal isn’t to perform wellness. It’s literally just to have a place to try/practice new things that will help you feel better…and to not do it alone.
Here are the details on how to get started
1. Download the Substack app (if you don’t have it).
Use the link/button in this post to get the app. New chat threads don’t go out by email, so if you want to see conversations as they happen, the app is the easiest way. (You can still use chat on the web—the app just makes it feel like an actual thread, not another inbox.)
2. Open the app and tap the chat icon.
It looks like two little speech bubbles in the bottom bar. When you tap it, you’ll see a row for this newsletter. Under that, you’ll find our chat.
3. Join the conversation.
Tap into Rhythm Reset, scroll to the latest thread, and introduce yourself. If you’re not sure what to say, you can start with:
Your name (or nickname)
One part of your rhythm you’d like to work on (mornings, evenings, meals, screens, movement, etc.)
One small thing you’re willing to experiment with this week
That’s it. There is no official start date, no end goal... Just a space for us to experiment together with real-life going on in the background. I’d love to see you in there :).
